Story
Melanin Culture Co., where art meets experience, is a Black-femme owned business founded by Krystle Sieghart and Leticia Resch, two Santa Barbara County locals. Krystle and Leticia are experienced event curators, that pride themselves on bringing culturally inclusive events to the central coast by partnering with vendors and artisans with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Melanin Culture Co. promises to bring a unique and immersive energy to every event we curate. We create art.

Our mission is to creatively develop immersive experiences that make our clients feel safe, valued, and seen.
Vision
Our vision is to curate culturally inclusive events that reflect the diverse community of the central coast.
Values
Melanin Culture Co. values to support and uplift all people, including people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ people, people of color, and people apart of the Black diaspora. Our company respects the indigenous people of the Chumash tribe that are the original stuarts of the land our business is operated on.

We started Juneteenth Santa Barbara with a mission to center Black joy, and our recent partnership with event coordinators Kryslte and Leticia has supported us to imagine Black futures. Our 6th annual city wide celebration, with an attendance close to 3,000 is a testament to such a fruitful engagement. Kryslte and Leticia were able to expand upon our visions while keeping our intentions. For example, our first and second celebration featured a humble community vendor market, but with Kryslte and Leticia we were able to feature over 30 Black owned and operated businesses. Both ladies planned and organized in a way that brought ease and calm to a dynamic festival. We are so grateful for their eye for design, knowledge of city processes, and connection to local vendors. Our event and community we serve, truly benefited from their expansive and equity minded talents.

The team did a phenomenal job, finding us an excellent location, delicious catering, and a gorgeous sitting setup that folks still talk about a year later.
